Snoring Devices

Are you keeping your loved ones up at night with snoring?

Here, at Confident, we are able to offer an appliance that could help you.

Anti-snoring appliances have been developed to reduce snoring and allow you and your loved ones to stay sleeping all night long.

Snoring

Snoring is the sound made when your airway becomes obstructed, or partially obstructed during sleep and happens to almost everyone at some point in their lives. Obstructions could be caused by any number of different things, including your natural anatomy and lying on your back in sleep. In a small number of cases, snoring can be a sign of a sleep disorder, such as sleep apnoea, and the dentist making your appliance may recommend you see your doctor.

Preventing snoring

Anti-snoring devices work by holding the lower jaw in a forward position to stop your tongue from going to the back of your throat and causing an obstruction of the airway. No obstructions = no snoring!

Sleepwell

We use a system called Sleepwell, which has been successfully used for many years to stop people across the country from snoring.

Sleepwell appliances are the best treatment for cases of snoring and mild to moderate sleep apnoea! The Sleepwell appliances are a set of upper and lower devices that are similar to mouthguards but have a very small metal hook on one of them, and a catch for the small hook on the other.

The idea is that, when you wear them, you hook the top teeth to the bottom teeth to keep your jaw in a forward position overnight. When you feel the appliances are no longer working to prevent snoring, you can adjust them to move your lower jaw into a more forward position than previously.
