Dr Nerina Tackie

General Dentist
BChD (Leeds), MFDS RCS (Ed), Dip. MFGDP (UK)
GDC: 82196
Dr Nerina Tackie graduated from Leeds University in 2003. Her passion for dentistry, and attention to each individual patient continues to be the motivating force in providing the best care possible.

Nerina worked in general practice for two years before she gained employment at Leeds General Infirmary as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. It was this position that deepened her interest in this field and led to her attending a number of courses to develop her skills further. Nerina has recently finished a three year Masters degree with the University of Ulster in Clinical Oral Surgery, and is therefore able to undertake complex extractions, and accept referrals from other clinicians for more difficult cases.

As a general practitioner, Nerina is always keen to keep up with the latest developments in dentistry and as such, has undertaken a number of postgraduate courses over the years. She obtained a Diploma of the Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice in 2005, and a Diploma of the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery in 2006, allowing her to become a member of the Royal College of Surgeons. Other courses include placing white fillings, restorative dentistry, teeth straightening and root canal treatments. Nerina is also a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry, and following the recent completion of her course, can provide treatment for anxious and nervous patients under sedation.

After living in Scotland for a number of years, Nerina has returned to Swindon where she lives with her husband and two sons. Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends and enjoys a good sparring session when she is doing her martial arts!
