Dr Shazia Parveen is a General Dentist Associate at Confident Dental & Implant Clinic, working in our Bishop’s Cleeve clinic.
Dr Shazia Parveen qualified from Cardiff University School of Dentistry in 2016. She undertook her first year in practice in Central London alongside weekly training at the Eastman Dental Institute.

With a keen interest to further develop her skills, Shaz pursued a year in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. During her time here she carried out a range of surgical treatments for both children and adults under local and general anaesthesia. As well as working alongside the maxillofacial team in head and neck cancer, orthognathic and TMJ surgery cases.

Following this she passed two examinations to join as a member of the faculty of dental surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
Shaz returned to Cardiff Dental Hospital in 2019 to pursue a year in restorative dentistry where she developed a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation cases and periodontal surgery.

During her short career, Shaz has been awarded several prizes for her work. These include the ABAOMS prize for oral and maxillofacial surgery and Coltene and Whaldent prize for restorative dentistry in 2016. Most recently she was awarded the Early Career award in London, for best clinical case at the British Society of Prosthodontics BSSPD conference in 2019.

She has also qualified in Facial Aesthetics at the renowned Avanti Aesthetics Academy on Harley Street, London.

She is able to perform a range of anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler procedures. She is also able to provide medical grade skincare from the ZO health range to treat a range of skincare conditions.

Shaz’s extensive knowledge of dentistry and specialisation in Facial Aesthetics allows her to achieve life changing results for her patients whilst putting their comfort at the forefront of her care. She gained this knowledge through her further training at various prestigious University Hospitals throughout the UK.

Shaz will soon be undertaking sedation training which she will then be able to offer to patients to allow them to be comfortable during treatment.

When she’s not working hard at the clinic, Shaz loves spending time with her family, travelling and watching cricket. Alongside this, her secret passion is to play video games (particularly Call of Duty) in her spare time with her husband Matt. It didn’t take long for this secret to come out.
